Production Management
Demi started her career specializing in production management, blending her passion for the people and process of animation. Her appreciation of the arts, engaged problem-solving skills, and empathetic leadership style allowed to her be a compassionate ally for creative teams.
For 9.5 years, Demi cultivated a wealth of varied project experience, from TV to Feature, 2D to 3D to puppets, and from working with both international vendor studios and in-house artists. As a production supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios, she was recognized as a highly effective leader, collaborating with cross-show leadership to efficiently drive creative solutions, and managing teams of up to 55+ artists.
Demi is also passionate and involved in DEI efforts in the entertainment industry. Through Rise Up Animation, she helped pave early organizing efforts for the production management area and mentored budding talent. At Disney, she helped establish and serve as a core group leader of the studio's berg APLUS+ (Asian and Pacific Islanders Learning and United in Solidarity +) where she hosted employee decompression spaces, coordinated cultural events, moderated panels, and more.
Demi looks back on her career path fondly, with gratitude for the opportunities to support beautifully-animated, heartfelt, and meaningful content that could inspire audiences around the world.

What's a day in the life in animation production management like? Delighted to share this podcast episode from The Animation Happy Hour where Alaia Braxton and I spoke about our experiences as production coordinators. (We eventually moved on to Production Supervisor roles!) |
" Often when people hear you work in animation, they think you’re an animator or an artist, but animation requires people with many different skill sets all working in unison. The production management staff are members of the crew who ensure all the moving pieces are working together. It takes a different kind of creativity to be able to orchestrate a plan, and find creative solutions to challenges that inevitably will come up during any animation production. All while keeping the crew calm, productive, and happy and also staying on schedule and in budget."
